Every Monday at 9pm, The Globe Pub holds one of the best stand-up open-mics in the city. Hosted by Tony Blanco, a bigwig over at comedy powerhouse Lakeshore Theater, the lineup of talent at The Globe is far superior to most other competing showcases. This a great place for first-timers, as well as for those who are more serious about their comedic pursuits, to test the Chicago comedy waters. Every first Monday of the month is Globe Gong Idol, a tongue-in-cheek contest designed to razz even the most established comedians. Some of the best stand-ups in the city do this open mic, and it’s a great opportunity to learn from the masters. (Max Minor)
