Dance makers from New York, San Francisco and Chicago release the reins and remix each other’s work in three nights of performances at Links Hall. New York-based experimental mover Julie Mayo and Madison/Chicago-based Kate Corby—both Links Hall Artistic Associates—invited a handful of choreographers to form creative wrecking crews, surrendering their finished pieces to their colleagues and dancing under their direction. Choreographic “wrecking” is a notion first coined by Susan Rethorst in the nineties, who used it as a methodology to challenge notions of authorship and interpretation. A different trio will perform each night: New York on Thursday, our fair city Friday and a Tri-Coastal Trio Saturday. (Sharon Hoyer)
At Links Hall, 3435 North Sheffield, (773)281-0824. Thursday-Saturday, April 12-14 at 8pm. $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
