Links Hall, a Chicago venue for local, national and international dance and performance, has been doing exceptionally well these days. So well, that in two years they have doubled their budget and attendance. It’s easy to see why last month they decided to create an entirely new position—managing director. Jennifer Thornton, who took on the job, previously coordinated Evanston outdoor fine-arts fairs. She says she went to Links Hall because “I have a deep interest in the performing arts; my creative background is in dance and music. I’m passionate about their mission [and] I was attracted to the fact that I get to do a lot of marketing work and audience development.” As expected, Thornton’s goals are harmonious with Links Hall’s continued growth: “I would like to help grow the awareness in the community. I am very interested in getting behind the growth that has happened over the past few years.”
