Legendary Afro-Puruvian singer Susana Baca is the special guest live vocalist as the Luna Negra Dance Theater returns downtown for the world premiere of Luna Negra founder and artistic director Eduardo Vilaro’s “Mi Corazón Negro” (“My Black Heart”), which Vilaro describes as a journey into the multi-racial cultural heart of Latin America. Luna Negra audience favorites—Ron DeJesus’ “The Last 12 Minutes, ” Maray Gutierrez’ “Eterno Depertar” and Bessie Award-winner Pedro Ruiz’ “Enamorados”—round out the program. (Dennis Polkow)
