“Who is Candi Lane” might not inspire as many inquiries as John Galt, but she’s still worth checking out. The “she” in question is Ohm’s regular midweek party, featuring an able juxtaposition of talented local jocks. The main room (coined the Main Strip for Candi Lane) is helmed by Boom Boom Room’s Just Joey and Soul Foundation’s Brian Gardner, with monthly visits from internationally recognized local superstars Diz and Justin Long. Expect that signature Chicago thump, four-to-the-floor, all night long. If you head upstairs to the Love Lounge (Candi Lane’s renamed bridge) you’ll find the Siteholder Records crew of Billy Dalessandro, Brian Ffar and Daniel Mnookin bleeping it out for the tech-heads. So back to Candi…is she a debauched adult entertainer-turned-promoter? A fictional promotional character? Hmmm. Another tough question to ask might be which flavor of dance floor you’d prefer on Wednesdays at Ohm. If you’re unsure, at least you have until 4am to figure it out. (Duke Shin)
