Les Ballets Africains, the national ensemble of the Republic of Guinea, has thrilled audiences worldwide with its careful preservation of African culture via live performances since being formed by legendary Guinean choreographer Keita Fodeba half a century ago. In a compelling program presented by our own Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago and the Harris Theater, the company celebrates its half century with performances that include native dance and tribal attire, propulsive native music that includes a battery of ancient African instruments and drums, acrobatics and the storytelling art of the griot.
