As promised, Theatre Wit’s production of “Feydeau-Si-Deau” is stock full of slamming doors and misplaced clothing, but where are the more interesting choices? This material is deceptively hard. Georges Feydeau, of “A Flea in Her Ear” fame, has served up a generous helping of exactly the kind of absurdity I expect from a French farce. The ensemble of actors, however, never seems to get inside the text to explore the richness that is there. There are some great moments, but also an abundance of comic opportunity lost to what feels like shallow exploration. That said, costume designer Laura B. Kollar and scenic designers Hand Le and Courtney O’Neill exhibit rare talent. Taking place in several Paris locations, the set lives beautifully beneath the arches of the Eiffel Tower and Kollar’s garments exist vibrantly in the Parisian playground. (William Scott)
