The Lincoln Lodge recently closed the curtains on another season, making Chicago Underground Comedy the current stand-up champ. Located at the Beat Kitchen with $5 admission and Goose Island beer specials, C.U.C’s lineup this week features Brendan Mcgowan, Dan Telfer, Dan Polydoris and Sean Flannery. Both Mcgowan and Flannery are two of the best storytellers in the biz, and their retellings of drunken buffoonery are rivaled by none. Room-runner Telfer is a nerd, and his adventures in nerd-dom are funny and poignant. A recent entrance in to fatherhood should provide Telfer plenty of awkwardness to analyze for our amusement. Polydoris is another talented local comic, and his occasional infusion of music makes him highly entertaining. (Max Minor)
