Chicago Fusion Theatre is pleased to announce its 2011-2012 Season!
CFT is proud and pleased to announce two exciting partnerships for the coming season- the first being with award-winning New York playwright, Tony Meneses! Meneses’ work first came to us through friends of the company, and each of us were thoroughly captivated by his ability to tell familiar stories with characters that aren’t often written for the stage.
Second, CFT has partnered with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs to bring you the Spring production (the second of Meneses’ works of the season) of Las Hermanas Padilla at Chicago’s Storefront Theatre! More info available at the DCA website
Exciting, no?

This Fall, Chicago Fusion Theatre (CFT) invites you to The Boy in Black by Tony Meneses. A romantic comedy at its heart, this first of CFT’s 2011-2012 season of works by Meneses is a story about finding the color in a world of grey- whether that means sharing it with someone you love or embracing a shade all your own.
Director Emma Peterson brings Meneses’s captivating script to life on a magically realistic, charmingly minimalist scale. Staged in the Royal George’s intimate Gallery Space, CFT’s trademark aesthetic and original designs embody The Boy in Black in a burst of color, warmth, humor, and familiarity. This world is one of shared moments, of characters with whom we can all identify, and ideas that ring so true to the lovesick in all of us that we can’t help but laugh together.
