“The Legacy of Chicago Dance” waltzes through more than 100 years of dance in the city, showing how different styles and traditions have not only co-existed but converged in unexpected and creative ways. Drawing on the Newberry Library’s vast dance archives, the exhibit covers a wide range of dancers, studios, and styles through an array of materials, including rare archival videos, photos, costumes and pointe shoes worn by powerhouse ballerinas like Anna Pavlova. The exhibit is free to visit and runs through July 6.
