Links Hall 96 Hours
Inspiration thrives within constraints, and in case physical distancing and streaming-only shows weren’t restrictive enough, Links Hall throws performance art in the pressure cooker this month by pairing teams of three interdisciplinary artists with a technician, a prompt, a list of required ingredients and four days to produce an original piece. It’s a competitive cooking show approach to performance that should prove a welcome flare of creative fire amidst interminable gray of lockdown fatigue. Teams are as follows: Team A – dancer Ayako Kato, filmmaker/musician/puppeteer Spence Warren and dancer/storyteller Nora Sharp; Team B – fire spinner/singer Dawn Xiana Moon, cellist Lia Kohl and hip hop artist D3won; Team C – dancer/storyteller Marceia L Scruggs, singer Erica Rene and cornetist Ben LaMar Gay.
Pop-up Performance Festival, Links Hall. Streaming September 12, Team A at 1pm, Team B at 3pm and Team C at 5pm. All three teams stream September 13 at 5pm. $12 per team, $30 for all three. Tickets at eventbrite.com.
