3 Pivot Arts Festival (Edge Theater) Chicago Dancemakers Forum Lab Artists, a new opera by Anna Martine Whitehead, a dance suite by Ashwaty Chennat, a “hip-hopera” adaptation of “The Barber of Seville” and a short film by Alex Grelle of “The Grelley Duvall Show” are highlights of this annual performance festival. 4 Don Quixote (Lyric Opera House) After rescheduling, the Joffrey Ballet closes their first season at the Lyric Opera House with Yuri Possokhov’s lighthearted rendition of Cervantes’ tale. June 2-12
5 Flamenco Passion (North Shore Center for the Performing Arts) Guest choreographer La Lupi from Spain and Grammy-winning musicians Buika and Diego “El Negro” Alvarez join Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater in a festival of flamenco music and dance. June 17-19
