River North Dance Chicago is for lovers. Well, they are this weekend. Its annual Chicago engagement is back at the Harris Theater and just in time for Valentine’s Day. The program is to include two world premieres; “Train” by Robert Battle, artistic director of New York’s Battleworks Dance Company, is an eclectic, non-stop piece infusing modern, funk and African styles, and “Between Three” by Julia Rhoads, choreographer of RNCDC favorite “In the Oasis,” will highlight the grace of the RNCDC’s women through a soft and pastoral trio. Also scheduled is the return of Lauri Stallings’ “ahimsa,” Artistic Director Frank Chaves’ “Take a Seat” and “Habaneras, the Music of Cuba” and Harrison McEldowney’s “The Box,” among others. And Valentine’s would not be complete without the classic River North romantic duet, “At Last,” a playful piece about a couple’s first meeting set to the classic by Etta James. If you have a partner who likes dance, I would imagine tickets to this show will score. (William Scott)
